The 3-Ton ELECTRIC Lighting only package with 4X4 truck was built from the ground up featuring the latest high-end and robust LED film fixtures with wireless DMX/CRMX capabilities controlled through Blackout Lighting Console. Mix in a small and mighty tungsten lighting kit to get the best of both worlds. It's a complete package with disto, cables, fixtures and support equipment. We get snow and blizzards in Northern Nevada and often film out in muddy fields on dairy farms, our 3-Ton 4x4 truck gives you the best chance for an easy day somewhere between the desert and mountains. 

​

This package consists of big lighting units such as the Aputure XT52, a 5,500 watt bi-color LED workhorse, 240VAC required to operator at 100%, or 120VAC for up to 50% intensity output. Our included Honda EU7000iS generator is dedicated for this fixture at 100% maximum output. In addition to the standard reflectors Myles provides the long-throw 5-degree parallel beam. 

​

For a modular large hard or soft source, we have the Skypanel X23, a 2x3 foot fixture array, with a combined 24-pixels helping you to achieve many custom cues or effects on set. The X23 array comes apart and you can also use the three X21 2x1 fixtures on their own, spread out on set however you need. So three standard 2x1 fixtures or one large 2x3 foot fixture.

Two VORTEX8 2x1 panels (2UP yoke capable, making a 2x2 foot fixture) and one VORTEX4 1x1 panel help compliment this robust package. Hands down the most rugged mainstream fixtures in the industry. 

​

The two Aputure 1200X point-source LEDs with compact zoom Fresnel fixtures, can be standalone, or also doubled-up on a small double-header working as an excellent fill light source along side the larger XT52 unit. Myles loves to hit the XT52 hard and direct acting as the sun, and bounce the 2x 1200Xs as a fill. These two 1200Xs can both be operated up to 90% intensity together on one provided Honda EU3200I portable generator. If house power is available is it easy to find 20amp circuits in Nevada and home run power to each fixture for maximum output. A smaller 400X with zoom Fresnel is also included. We custom modified our OEM 30" Jem Ball to attached to these Bowens Mount fixtures.

Do you know how great Astera internal-battery lighting units are? You must know the Titan tubes, an industry standard and 1-meter in length. The Helios tubes at .5-meters allow for even greater flexibility to hide under kitchen cabinets, or double-up inside a Lightsock (provided in this package). The LeoFresnel is a 250W LED tank of a fixture with zoom Fresnel, and the three 80W PlutoFresnel units really complete and compliment this overall lighting package. It's a great day on set when the DP asks for the Astera Projection Lenses on the PlutoFresnels, for some precision shaping of light on set. 

​

For practicals and custom situations, we include two Astera PixelBricks, five NYX Bulbs and eight SolaBulbs (zoom Fresnel practicals). A quad kit of DMG Dash with one DOT diffuser which is a great eye catch light that helps to round out this package. 

​

Two Litegear LiteMats, the Plus 3 with Snapgrid and Plus 1 with Snapgrid help to ensure we can light almost every scenario you ask of us. We've upgraded the dimmers to include wireless DMX/CRMX. 

​

Even though some will say it is grip department's, we include one of the latest Matthews Middle Max Menace Arms to help raise a heavy light fixture above or below grade, or extended out as a top light over a pool or boxing ring. 

​

Myles Smythe is both a talented Cinematographer and Gaffer/Chief Lighting Technician, owner operator. Myles' narrative feature film Gaffer credits include the Warner Bros. feature Casa Grande the movie, Mimics, Fit for Murder, Bach Sh*t Crazy, and notable short films such as The Devil In Me and CATCH. He has also worked on numerous premium documentary films and notably the Cody Johnson "I'm Gonna Love You" (with Carrie Underwood) music video. On smaller non-union productions Myles has often been first unit Gaffer and also Ski-Unit or Second-Unit DP. Myles is capable of working as a union Gaffer on your project through the IATSE Local 363 mixed union located in Reno, Nevada. If Myles could only use three things to light or shape your set, with no context for the scene, he'd pick: Aputure XT52, Skypanel X23, and Half Soft Frost diffusion.
